With digitalization, networking, and intelligence as the main line, it uses new technologies and concepts such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, V2X, and combines Beidou high-precision positioning with 5G communications to create a smart highway comprehensive digital platform covering “people, vehicles, roads, and environment”, realize all-weather, multi-factor status perception of road networks and infrastructure, and build a smart highway full-area operation and control center integrating monitoring and dispatching, emergency control, free-flow inspection, diversified services, and vehicle-road collaboration. It consists of five major scenarios: infrastructure digitization, integrated operation and maintenance, road network operation control, smart service areas, and vehicle-road collaboration.
